The 8" channels are standard weight channel (I forget what weight but I have it somewhere) 10' tall. The 6" channel from the barn trusses over lap a foot. They aere 7' eve buildings so that puts us at 16' eves from the top of the piers. The original turkey barn trusses were on 10' centers and we have pulled them in to 8' so should be 20% stronger than originally designed. Also I have seen these trusses built with 6" channel the full 16' eve height on 10' so these should be plenty stout.
