Subject: Re: Coal mines and wells

“These are the times that try men's souls.”
When I was a kid I remember getting water out of great grandpa's well(hand pump) at the ranch. We would leave drinking water in a bucket to dip out of. I remember to this day, that in the morning after water had sit of 8 or more hours there was a oil flim on it. Very, very light flim on it, but we still drank it. I don't ever remember it tasting bad or smelling. There was two coal mines less than a 1/2 mile from the house on granddad's land in Utah. His family was coal miners from England, they had coal mines and started into the sheep business then. We all turned out ok, I think? I would pump the heck out of the well, then sample it. Maybe also put a filter on it.
