I run my concave on 1 and my cylinder 580 -600 rpm.A concave to wide will hurt you far more than shut down to far .I have never ran beans as slow as you say ,thats how fast I run corn.I say close the concave and speed up cylinder and it will be a different machine unless you need new bars.
