Driftless SW Wisconsin
There are many folks with corn yet to be combined and are thankful for freeze up so they can harvest without major rutting and getting stuck. I prefer to spring strip into corn (rather than fall) with our Pluribus coulter system anyway. Sometimes it takes a couple seasons for guys to be able to relax and make their strips in the spring. Many folks are so wedded to fall tillage in corn stalks that it takes a fall like this for them to give spring a try. This year esp it is nice to be equipped to go whenever nature gives you the opportunity. It is looking like fertilizer may be lower cost by spring also. We have a number of large NC IA striptill customers who regularly strip into corn in the spring with good results. They know they WILL get time to do strips in the spring. Maybe an hour or two ahead of the planter but it will get done without delaying planting for most folks. Jim at Dawn
