| Yes it is. For say the last 18 months or so, there has been more plow talk than I've ever seen. Lots of long term experience in no-till folks around these boards that have even been discussing the benefits of plowing when they start having issues with wet harvest and hybrid stalks on corn on corn, etc. Not everyone that mentions moldboard plowing is using one, some may be using a disk chisel one year in many, stuff like that. But ya, I sure noticed the increase in plow talk too.
In my area, fall of 2008, I expected to see a big increase in minimum tillage at least, but I've never seen so much plowing done since the perennial seed revolution began around here 25 years ago or so. But then it is also interesting to note the huge increase in cover crop experimenting and usage. I know I am certainly interested in learning more about this as my area raises alot of the cover crop seed. | |
