Nusbaum Farms LLC Bellfountain, OR | Mike, I usually use the deep suck shares also. But this summer I was plowing on a field that is known for having huge boulders, including one that will usually trip 4-5 bottoms at once. I pulled off the good ($52) shares and replaced them with cheap ($15 or so) upset shares from Sloan. I intended to put the good shares back on when I got done with the rock pile, but didn't get around to it, and I had no problems getting/keeping the plow in the ground with the cheapy's which I hadn't used since 2000 or so due to penetration problems. I don't think the ground was any more moist this summer than usual, but I think our ground is getting more mellow from only plowing every other year and working all the straw back in vs. how we used to burn it all.
