 The way I see it. The reason we do some plowing is to mix the dirt and roll some stones back down so chiseling can bring them back up. seems wierd but every ten years or so it gets done.I would say it varies on what depth you should plow. Most of the plows we have used (JD and White) can do a nice level job at any depth above a few inches. I would look more at what kind of plow layer you have and plow accodingly. Plowing deep for the sake of plowing deep does no good. If you can mix and cover with a plow job of 5 inches and don't have a plow pan your trying to break up. Then I would only plow that deep.
