Subject: RE: Zone Sampling - Revisited

Nevada, Iowa
I haven't read all of the comments posted on this thread, in fact I have only read this one. I really don't have any authority to speak on soil sampling or fertilizer recommendations. With those disclaimers said, 10 years ago we experimented with sending split samples to two different labs. We had some pretty dramatic differences in the fertility levels. Some were close, some were way off, none were identical. I know others have done this and had similar results. My question is this, even though we can gps a location down to the fraction of an inch, what good is that accuracy when the lab results can't get within an hand grenade for consistency?
