Nance County, Ne
Paul I've got a neighbor that has been COC for 4-5 yrs on there irrigated pivots. They made up there own strip-till rig (old buffalo cultivator) and make strrips a day infront of the planter. They're doing this into 200bu/a plus residue. Corn aways seems to start out a little slower but when it gets all of its N it sure grows. I know I'm in a different area but it's what they do.

I'm not much of an strip-till fan but I think it works in certain areas. I think from what you have said the 1 tripper would be worth a try. Never know till you try.
