| What I have had work the best is to cultivate during the first year of corn with furrowing wings on to create a slight ridge. This gives the residue a place to go after we run our root baller and makes a clean seed bed for us to plant into in the spring. I dont like how it leaves the field rough but our equipment is set up for it and on the year before beans we do not cultivate, then it seems to be smoothed out enough that we can drill at an angle, we usually only go 3-4 years of corn and then 1 of beans. | |
