| We run a 1-tripper after our root baller to put on NH3. Would like to do this on flat ground and eliminate two trips (cultivator and root baller) but have had mixed results with this. We are in central KS and like to run NH3 in the fall, we have had trouble doing this on flat ground and by spring our strips get "drifted" over with residue that gets blown around through the winter, by elevating our seed bed it seems to eliminate this. One year we had trouble with residue moving right after planting, there were areas with covered in residue and this caused very uneven emergence and stands as low as 20,000 from a 34,000 drop. | |
