mid Illinois | My experience is the opposite lately. I used a Pioneer non-gmo for a refuge, split in the planter. Everywhere I picked corn this fall, had all the other companies (even the Dekalb) corn leaning over onto, and being held up by the Pioneer refuge which was standing straight as an arrow. My Dekalb was the highest yielding corn I had, but ear rot on it was terrible, so I will have to see what the dock will be when it makes it to market. | |
