I've never seen a problem with the 1480 being shorter than the 1688 either....Although i've never done corn either.
Funny about the fixed top seives.....I hate mine and many neighbours have changed them for adjustables and are much happier....?





You hate the fixed chaffer ??, really ??, now you got me curious.

I have no idea what brand it is as it came in the combine 8 years ago when i bought it.My crops are Oats , Sunflowers,Canola and soys and obviously most of these give no problems but i do a little custom in wheat and barley and occasionally venture into some flax and nothing i can do achieves the same sample as an adjustable in the other machine and is like having a MF 760 all over again LOL....Overloading tailings is the main problem from making the bottom do all the work..But obviously if you shut it too far you lose wind....?
For an 84 she's been heavily updated but just cannot get along with that fixed business...?..Does still have standard rotor though...?
