I have never done corn with my 1480's, so I am at a disadvantage knowing what works there. I would never consider a long shoe conversion on mine since installing fixed air foil chaffers from Harvest Services, I have yet to find a crop that uses more than 2/3 of the short shoe air foil chaffer. Will they work in corn ? If the rotor rumbles and thumps in corn, then the Kyle or SS auger front will improve smoothness and feeding capacity over the impellers..
