South central, Nebraska | I doubt a warranty situation would be much of a problem (one would hope).
I'm thinking more along the lines of upgrading currently owned systems that are not very old but have no warranty on them. Without the option to transfer a newly purchased RTK unlock upgrade, an owner could spend $4000 one day only to have it be worthless the next day if that unit fails beyond repair.
I was thinking the warranty is two years for the EZ-Guide 500. If you upgrade it anytime after two years and it fails, you have over $7000 in it. Doubt you get much trade-in value. That might sting a bit.
