Subject: Why is EZ-Guide 500 & 252 receiver a hot topic?

South central, Nebraska
This combination seems to be a popular topic since the new firmware came out for the 500.

Wouldn't the 252 antenna running RTK be more expensive than upgrading the 500 to RTK?

I can see the advantage if you already own a 252 antenna. What are the other reasons that are making this combination so popular right now?

Also wondering what happens when you have upgraded a EZ-Guide 500 to RTK, then it dies and is determined to be unrepairable?

An example: A two year old EZ-Guide 500 gets upgraded to RTK. Cost $4000. The next day it just craps out and is unrepairable. The guarantee on the 500 in no longer effective and a dealer probably has no way to transfer the upgrades to a new 500. Are you out $4000? Too bad, so sad?

TIA
