Flexibility? Purchasing a 252RTK would provide a separate usable receiver unit, so that the 252 and lightbar could be used on different vehicles at the same time. For example, you plant in the spring with the 252 and 500 on a JD tractor with EZ-Steer, then in the fall you put the 252 on your combine for mapping (and maybe guidance), and put the 500 on a spray rig, tillage tractor, etc. If you had just upgraded the 500 to RTK, you still only have one device.
I dunno, there are probably other reasons. I think already owning a 252 is a big one, though. | |
