Subject: Re: JD's electronic Tru Count for planters???

Nebraska
Planter is a 1770NT CCS 24 Row with long parallel arms, no markers, pnuematic down pressure. Will put on sunco saber tooth row cleaners and the sunco nutri-mate fertilizer coulter to put on 15 gallon of a 30-15-0-5-1 starter. Will also put on 3 gal. of 10-34-0 on the seed for pop-up.

Tru-count liturature recommends not to run in "dusty" conditions. What???? on a planter - how could that happen. Reports on this site, have shown that Tru-count units have failed and the recommendation was to take apart and clean among other remedies. Source for air for the compressor on tru-count must come an airline to the cab to get filtered air - to help alieviate this concern/problem.

We have JD Autotrac, rate controller, swath control, GS2 Display ect................... We are so fricken married to "mother deere" that we can't affort the divorce. On the new planter - dealer said the wedge boxes were the right ones and if they weren't - they would swap them out to get us the right ones. My question is - do JD clutches work and what would be the cost versus the Tru-Count system.
