kmk - 8/17/2008 14:39 Ray,I think you have been mislead.Yes the new radios have to be compliant but the old radios can still be used and do not have to be switched out.There is no reason to get rid of the old ones unless you switch to a new split frequency that your old radios are not capable of being programmed to. Mike in SEIL is a radio guru and I'm sure will chime in here somewhere.

I think you and Mike need to let the FCC know about this, they may not be aware of it! Smile

If what you say is true, please provide a creditable source for the information (not saying you and Mike are not creditable - I just want better references.)

Edit, I just searched this forum for a discussion on the topic and found this posted by Mike SEIL.  On the surface it appears to be in conflict with what you (kmk) posted.  I stand corrected and see that Ray did mention 2010.  I concede that the date is 2013 or possibly 2018 to take radios out of service
