west Tennessee
well guys.. I should have stated earlier.. but failed to... that the real number one reason we bought the coulters was to hopefully loosenthe soil enough in front of the openers so that maybe we wouldnt have openerbearings going down all the time! I doubt any of you remember me posting this time last year about it.... but we ran two 12 row 1200s planting corn and cotton and wore out a set of brand new opener bearings at 1500 acres per planter.... then we also had 2 1200s on 15 inch rows planting beans.. we wore out brand new bearings in them at 800 acres... then had to replant into hard soil conditions and had bearing failures at only 500 acres per planter! and we ussually only run medium down pressure! Im gettin tired of stopping to put bearings in openers in the middle of the season! I am not gonna put em on a brand new 100,000 dollar planter.... its gonna be cases baby!
