I have found the problem with the 8500. Eyecandy was correct in that the wiring harness was a made up one and the wires connecting the flow meter were wired incorrectly (signal wired to ground) switching the wires around solved the problem and I am pleased to say that the system is now reporting the correct rates. Turns out that the calibration # of 3619 was correct.
