Use information from the manufacturer of the spray nozzles to set the flow rate

This is a procedure on how to set a spray rate for an EZ-Boom spray controller:

1.
Determine coverage rate needed (gallons per acres). This is determined from the chemical being applied. Never recommend the coverage rate needed. The farmer or his crop consultant must determine the rate.

2.
Determine speed that the sprayer will be driven (miles per hour). The farmer / operator must determine the speed.

3.
Determine the nozzle that is needed for desired rate. Nozzle manufactures provide these charts. From the XR TeeJet chart that is attached, there are two important pieces of information:

pressure (psi)
flow (gpm).

How to determine which nozzle is right for your desired flow:

Manufacturers of nozzles color-code the nozzles to tell different nozzles apart. Some nozzle manufactures are:

1.
GreenLeaf - http://www.turbodrop.com/

2.
TeeJet - http://www.teejet.com/

a.
TeeJet has a lot of great information on spraying, like how to calculate different things. http://www.teejet.com/MS/TeeJet/support.asp is a link to some of this information.

b.
A user guide to spray nozzles can be found at: http://www.teejet.com/MS/TeeJet/documents/Sales%20Literature/User%B...(low).pdf

c.
TeeJet Nozzle information can be found at: http://www.teejet.com/MS/TeeJet/support.asp?ID=66&cat=true

The pressure needed for the desired coverage rate will range from a low pressure of around 30 psi to a high pressure around 60 or 70 psi.
