Just get better designed sliders.  Plus if facing the prevailing winds, plant a windbreak about 75 to 100 ft. away.  If the slider is secure at the top and in a track or channel at the bottom, I have yet to see wind take one out, unless the wind is over 50 or 60 mph, in which case the other doors are probably in trouble too.  Oh and yes there is wind in western Kansas, some days 40 mph gusting to 60 all day long.
