| I had a 5.3 previously and have gotten nearly 19 on a long drive. I was very happy considering this was an extended cab 4x4. The replacement vehicle has been entirely unsatisfactory, having less power and getting 6 mpg less. The replacement was a 2007 Dodge Hemi. I am sick of it completely.
I have heard of people getting 22 mpg with the smaller engine in the Chevrolet. I would not hesitate to get the smaller engine. It will have adequate power for what you are wanting to do and will get excellent mileage. | |
