Sunnyside, WA
We always buy extended warranty on every piece of new equipment with and engine/transmission that will be run on the farm. Two main reasons:

1. Almost all of our mechanic work is hired out
2. We put on a lot of hours per year

Most warranties we buy are the 3yr/5000hr or 5yr/5000hr type, and always full machine (comprehensive) warranty if offered. Every warranty, and I mean EVERY extended warraty has paid for itself at least 2X what it cost. Just figure what the labor will be on finding some electrical problem on the tractor and you've most likely covered the warranty. If you do your own labor, its getting harder and harder on the new tractors anyway.
