Rivers, MB | This is my take on extended warranty. The company offering the ext. warranty will not take a loss on their premiums-warranty payouts. In other words, they are charging more for the warranty than they expect to payout to you and everyone else in the long term. Therefore, if you expect to be farming for a long time, statistically you would payout more for the extended warranty than you will receive in warranty work. Its basically an insurance policy. That being said, I think you have to look at what your risk tolerance is and your financial picture is. If a $15000 transmission job is going to place your farm in dire straits, then the 1800 might be a worthwhile premium to pay now. Otherwise, you're better off leaving the extended warranty. Just my opinion though.
