We did our 450 years ago. You won't regret it. Like someone else mentioned, it'll probably run better than new. Ours seemed to fire if it could turn over at all. We have electronics on 3 engines around here including Case payloder and skidloader. Couple things we've run into over the years. Left the key on (quit while idling) on the payloader, burned out the ignition unit. They warn about this happening. Couldn't get the payloader to run right one time. Finally noticed the rotor had a crack in it. The electronic ignition eliminates a LOT of potential problems, but not all. Still the best way to go, other than diesel.

OMC 260, as I understand it, the original Pertronix "Acnightor will stay powered up if the engine quits for any reason and overheat and possibly burn out the electronic ignition unit or coil.
It sounds like the Acnightor II fixes that. After a few seconds it will sense that the engine is not running and will power down until the engine rotates again, thus eliminating overheating damage to the Acnightor II module or coil.
