I plumbed my air in my shop with pex-al-pex about a year ago after having pvc for 20 years. I haven't had any problems with it. My top end pressure is about 140. I used 3/4 inch. It is very nice to work with. You can just bend around corners and use the compression couplings on the ends. I know someone who has 1/2 inch ( at 175psi) in his shop for 5 years and hasn't had any problems.
