So. IL
Have not seen that sort of problem here.

Just a thought. Is the cutterbar tilt angle adjusted properly? Years ago when we upgraded from a Deere 6600 to a 7720 we ran the 216 Flex header while we were looking for a larger header. That old header worked great on the 6600 but when we put it on the 7720 it picked up every dirt clod that it could find. Turned out that the cutterbar angle changed due to the taller tires on the 7720. Got the Deere operator's manual out for the header and made the recommended adjustments to the cutterbar angle. After struggling with two rusted bolts were back in the field and the old header would cut without picking up dirt on the 7720 just as it had done for years on the 6600. Note that it did not appear that the cutterbar angle changed very much but it made all the difference.

On a side note, some years we do have problems with crawfish mounds being tall enough that they are swept into the header and run through the combine. Only happens on creek bottom ground though. Not much you can do about it. Makes for some mighty dusty beans.
