I think your on to something about the heavier deisel on the front end. I assumed that since the motor would be heavier the heavier suspension would be better but on Western's website they say that I would need over 900# ballast in the ford and only 200-300# in my Chevy. The longer wheelbase of the ext cab on the chevy might help that as well.
