Subject: Best snowplow truck... Ford or Chevy?

East Central Ia
We are going to put an 8' snowplow on one of our trucks and need to decide which one to put it on. We have an 03 Ford F250 Diesel regular cab (Dad's truck), and an 03 Chevy Silverado 2500 Ext Cab with the 6.0L gas (my truck).

It would work best for us to put it on the Chevy as far as who drives what truck and what its used for, but the dealer said I should put some overload springs on the Chevy were as the Ford will probably be fine without. Its not a big deal, they only cost about 150$. But would the ford be enough better on the plow to make it worth the inconvenience of having it on Dad's truck? Would the Chevy take the abuse as well as the Ford? No commercial work here just plowing our lanes, and hog building drives and probably a few landlords lanes as well.
