Subject: Re: grinding round bales

I didn't realise that knight made one. We have a haybuster, we leave the net on and run it through. when it gets built up to bad we burn it off with a cutting torch. Most will probably come here and say that is crazy but we have been doing it for several years and the paint is fine on the outside and never had bearing problems. The key is to not let it get burning to hot before you start it up, you need to run it maybe half a dozen times to get it all off. I guess they make a big hot knife, that is suppose to work good too, I think it costs $100-$125. Either way will be much faster than taking the wrap off each bale. wrap cuts/burns off much easier than twine also.
