| We installed our first all plastic Ritchie three years ago. Put in another two years ago, and outfitted our new barn with 4 of the large ones this past fall. The first one is located out in the open. The only heat in it is the doughnut in the water valve area and the cable line for the water supply. In extream weater we installed a light bulb in the outside unit.
The plastic seems to be holding up very well. We have some metal ones that are due for replacement that have been in for 12 yrs. | |
