You're right - I was referring to corners using #14 electric wire. They seem to work well with this type corner.

As far as the poly - what I ended up with was putting up 14 gage 2 wire then taking some Gallagher 1/2" wide poly tape, twisting it around the top 14 gage wire and clamping so it was conductive at places between posts to increase the visibility where deer were likely to try to cross. So far so good.

We have had a lot of snow and I'm not sure the tape alone would have held up.
