As far as hoop buildings, are you talking buildings that are totally concrete floors or partial dirt. I have seen both, both seem to have their pros and cons. Some of the hoop buildings I have seen are totally cement floors, cement side walls and their cost is very little less than the mono slopes. Most of the guys building them are telling me that the concrete is 65-70% of the cost so the structure above had little to do with total cost.

As far as treating and spotting calves, yes that may be a harder job than outside lots. Having enough bedding made also an issue. However, one of the ways to reduce risk on this project is to feed some of the cattle on a custom basis. The environmental issues with manure all being contained and the opportunity for exceptional gains are what are drawing me to the mono slopes.
