We've looked at them. That's a big investment. Seems the only way to really make it worthwhile is to do it big time. 1-3000 head. If you're going to have to clean the pens out every two weeks you might as well spend a half a day doing it rather than a couple hours. Cattle gain VERY well in them. Talk of 4.5-5lbs per day. That is unreal.

We kind of decided that maybe a hoop barn was a better and cheaper way to go. I've heard that the monoslopes have rusting issues with all the moisture. One guy tried to put that spray-on insulation in his to keep the water away from the metal. Haven't heard the results of that yet. Cattle are hard to get out of the pens to treat and can be hard to spot if they're sick. Would guess that a dart is about the only way to treat them then.
