I've never seen that happen either but my it did happen once to a cow @ my great-grandparents' way back probably 50-60 years ago. So since then Dad has always said to throw the afterbirth away if we see it. Kinda like a legend you pass on to every generation, it can happen... In all those years, we probably did save some by doing that. Still a bugger when you lose a cow on something so rare.
