In reply to that SoIN prices are all over the board. Hear anything from $6-7 small sq fescue to $10-12 small alfalfa.
Straw is sitting pretty tight at about $3-3.50 small sq. Big round bale grass hay is running around $50 with none to be found.

Easter frost killed us, typically we dont have the soils to justify 3-4 cuttings so we usually go with a spring and fall cutting. Personally we dont have very many cows so we got lucky with enough hay, others not so lucky.

Guy up the road typically puts up around 100 to 150 1500# round bales, this year he had about 75 during corn harvest, was really looking for hay or corn fodder to make up the difference.

We however didnt get the brunt, since I go to school in Bowling Green, Ky i have an insite. THERE IS NO HAY! they were feeding hay in august when i returned to school. Not sure on the prices down there but it gets very expensive very quick. Im sure that even bowling green looks good compared to some of eastern KY and TN.
