I did an unoffical test between 8" drilled, 30" rowed and 30" notilled beans this year (all dryland, non-irrigated). Even though the beans (all same variety) varied in height considerably, all yields were within a few pounds of each other. Due to the poor year (dry.....no, damn dry), a few bu. difference would have really stood out.
