I'm still trying to come to terms with how bad this year is going to be.Hope all have a safe harvest. Well, in 1998, down here in The Big Country Area of Texas, Area in and around Abilene TX, Sweetwater, TX had 2 inches of rain in 9 months. We were in a wet spot NE of Sweetwater, we got 4 inches. And it did not last very long either, hot, hot days dried it out fast. Only cotton that made any amount was irrigated. The rest was plowed up. It did help the boll weevil eradication effort in my opinion. Fewer acres to spray. Fewer weevils too. |
