I can empathize also West TN. I am currently an agronomy salesman in SW Minnesota. I see the inputs going up first hand. The crops are spotty in our area but overall out of my location, things are going to be good. I farmed in Northeastern South Dakota in the 90's for six years after I got out of the Marine Corps. The Marine in me said I could beat the odds starting out completely on my own. We actually had too much rain in the mid-90's that took me down. That and inexperience. I really enjoy what I am doing now, but the costs are rising rapidly. The days when you could just work hard and make money are pretty much over. Good luck to all of you out there and I hope you get through the harvest season safely.
