| What is the compaction like in that field? We have been taking some CRP and hayfields out and rotating back in, and the compaction can really be impressive. I had one CRP field that had been in for something close to 20 years, and it chisled out all in chunks the size of a basketball. Same with Alfalfa fields. After several years of running over them with heavy equiment I like to either subsoil or chisel them out. Of course, this is "here" with high clay content soils and pretty impermeable subsoil. | |
