Normal crop insurance does pay for those losses Thud, but it doesn't replace a 50 bushel wheat crop at $4 or $5 a bushel or 100 bushel corn at any price. It pretty much covers some of your inputs and gets you through another year. Disaster payments are vote buyers, don't kid ourselves, look at the timing again. Those that are or were not covered with MPCI or other RA/CRC policies receive no disaster payments. You have to pay in to the system in order to reap the benefits. It's all about the money.
