Subject: RE: Disaster Payments?

north central Oklahoma
I understood it was going to be based on the higher loss of the last few years ( '05 or '06) up to crops planted for harvest before Feb 15th, 2007(or somewhere around that date) which would not include '07 corn freeze damage in this area. There is no calculation on your part, FSA has all yous loss records on file from the day you started farming. They will just show you the figures, it will be a no brainer to pick the highest number (loss indemnity paid) and I am assuming that the 42% they are referring to will be 42% of your highest loss payment. Are you wanting to now ahead of time so you can go spend it before ya get it, or like some out there I'm sure, their banker wants to know how much is coming and when before they foreclose?
BTW, signup may be Oct. 15, but I would not hold my breath for check issuance until after the first of the year. I will still have bills to pay then too.
