Farmerknowsbest, welcome aboard!  I think Don was not policing but extending a courtesy for all viewers, something that was commonplace on the site in times past but seems to be a lost art.  If you pay close attention to Don, I believe you will find your time here rewarding.

I started to view the pictures anyway and saw that I needed to scroll from left to right in order to view images that will take a long to time to load - NOT WORTH THE EFFORT here!  I'll probably let the computer load them while I'm about some other task; file size and image dimensions are important for friendly viewing.

Don, DKO, Ed or ??, how is bandwidth accounted for?  If I spend 20-30 minutes loading images through this site (even though they are linked from another site), am I using the bandwidth of this site?
