Actually, 0-0-30 is Potassium Carbonate. It is Potassium Hydroxide (0-0-42) reacted with carbon dioxide to buffer it back to a pH of approximately 12. KOH is a pH of approximately 22, and our US Transportation Department likes to think it is a hazardous material. Imagine that. KOH is used in a lot of the Hot Mix fertilizers, but you aren't very likely to find it on the farm. 0-0-30 is much more stable and that is found on the farm on a regular basis. As one of my customers in N Dakota found out this spring, even with me cautioning him, it isn't the most wonderful thing to mix with 10-34-0 even while being careful. He has since learned how to tame the monstor!

Jon S. your example is only one of many different analysis's that can be obtained when mixing poly and KOH, or Carbonate. You need to use your imagination. You may be able to cold mix 10-34-0 and KOH, but it won't stay cold very long, because you will have a chemical reaction from putting the two together. That's part of the problem with mixing Carbonate with 10-34-0, the chemical reaction. That reaction has been know under the wrong circumstance to blow fiberglass tanks apart, and to stretch poly tanks.

It is high priced stuff, depending upon your use it may still be economical.
