68340 | I can remember here in SE Neb. when the elevator would store extra milo down the middle of main street in small town. It was paved, had an arch curve for drainage, did not cover it as it was in Nov. and would pick it up in 60 days. Last done in the 1960's.
Cargill and Coop both do piles like that here every year. They start pulling the tarp on it as soon as possible and are ready for any rain that comes. Yes, the corn goes in dry 15% maybe 16% max. They also lay flexible tubes over the top of the pile every 75 feet or so to help with the suction of holding down the tarp. They lay 2 large air pipes down the middle of the pile on the floor. They use large brick blocks about 4 x 2 x 2 ft and stack them 2 high to hold the grain in. | |
