Subject: RE: Corn Moisture and Dockages

West of Dalhart, Texas
Actual dockage is 1.1614% (most use 1.2%) per point of moisture over 15.5. There will be 116.14 bu. (water weight) taken off of the 1000 wet bu. leaving you with 883.86 dry bushels. They are docking you for 253.33 bu. at $.76 ($760 / $3.00 = 253.33 bu). Your actual drying cost on your 1000 wet bu was $412, because 116 bu of it was water not corn (116 bu x $3.00 = $348 $760 - $348 = $412). I dry close to 3,000,000 bu each year and this place don't run for free.
