Been 3X forever here. I think udder health is easier with 3X. Our SCC runs around 100kthe all year and mastitis cases on any given day are ~1/2% of the milking herd being treated. Goal is less than 1%.

3X is nice for fresh cows. Barn needs to be fast enough to milk a pen in less than one hour. We don't set any production records but we do seem to keep cows around and sell quite a few fresh cows.
