sc ia | O.K. I'll give EPD calculation a try. The first part of the equation is parent's contribution to EPD's. If a bull's ww was 30 and the cow's was 20 then the calf's would be 25 unless one parent had higher accuracy than the other then the EPD would be favored a little to the higher accuracy parent. The next part of the equation would be the weaning weight ratio or how the calf ranked in his contemporary group. If the calf was average or another words ratio'd 100 it would have no effect on the EPD. If he ratio'd above 100 it would move the EPD up and vice versa if below 100. Now if a breeder was trying to keep his EPD's static by selection and all the other breeders were moving theirs up, then his herd EPD's would move to the left on the percentile chart.
